When I took a few years off social media—it was wonderful, especially for my mental health.
The things I thought I’d miss actually got even better. Connection? Text, call or see someone IRL 🫂 . Entertainment? Watch, read, or do something that actually engages me. Curiosity? Read a book, article, or research something I always wanted to know about. Boredom? Get outside. Take a nap 😴 . Whatever it was that really served me! My budget 💸 also thanked me for skipping the targeted ads.
But I won’t lie—I also missed out on just about everything that went viral online.
If clients mentioned the latest trending show, popular opinion, cultural moment etc…I’d have to catch up and/or search it in between sessions.
The goal of Nexa is to connect clinicians to what’s trending and spurring conversation online—while saving you from doomscrolling.
My hope is that Nexa eventually grows into an essential helper for clinicians across the country, and a community. My 2am brain imagines future events, online and in person (maybe even without our phones 😱). Perks that are actually exciting to you, like saving you money or time. Ways to share our collective wisdom and experience. And fun ✌️ because this field can feel heavy.
It also might end up being a bit of exposure therapy for me personally. An eldest daughter with a perfectionist streak 💁🏻♀️, I know not everyone will like this new creation or what it holds. I’ll miss important things and include things people don’t like.
If you ever see something you really like or dislike—please tell me all about it (seriously): [email protected].
Thank you for being here.
With care,
Enid

P.s. I started Nexa while on maternity leave. More time to consume online content, but also noticing how disconnected ⛓️💥 a lot of therapy-industry content feels from the world our clients live in. It really got my former journalists/editor brain thinking.
So here’s us, on one of our Nexa brainstorming walks 💭
