About Nexa

πŸ’« The Basics

Nexa is a weekly newsletter created for therapists who want to stay connected to what’s trending, without the constant scroll. We explore how business, pop culture, and social trends intersect with mental health and the therapeutic process β€” aiming for balance, curiosity, and respect for complexity.

πŸ” Acknowledgements & Intentions

While every effort is made to present content in a balanced, nonpartisan, and inclusive way, I acknowledge that no work is ever completely free of bias. My background, training, and worldview β€” like those of my sources β€” inevitably shape how I interpret and frame information. Therefore, the goal of Nexa is not to eliminate bias, but to stay aware of it, invite reflection, and encourage conversation across perspectives.

The lists of β€œclient impacts” and β€œtherapist interventions” included in each issue are illustrative, not exhaustive. They will not capture everyone’s experience or fit every clinician’s approach β€” and that’s okay. I welcome readers to share feedback if something doesn’t land. Disagreement is part of growth, and dialogue is encouraged.

In the future, I hope to grow Nexa to feature guest editors and contributors to expand the range of perspectives, backgrounds, and therapeutic orientations represented. For now, this is a startup project powered by one person β€” my own time, finances, and bandwidth β€” so we’re starting small.

πŸ’¬ About the Creator

I’m Enid Wilson, a California Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT #149114) and former journalist.

After earning my undergraduate degree in Literature and Communication Studies, I began my career as a newspaper editor and journalist, working in alternative media in Portland, Oregon, and later across the United States. During this time, I spent time living up and down the west coast of the States, in the southern States, and in the UK and Hungary.

When I eventually settled in California, I returned to a long-held goal β€” pursuing my interest in psychology and becoming a therapist. My clinical work focuses on helping people strengthen their sense of self, heal from trauma, and self-regulate. I work predominantly from a Psychodynamic lens.

I am passionate about community storytelling, honoring the history of places and people, bringing arts and culture content to light, and creating connections. I recognize my privilege and the particular lenses I bring, and I strive to use them in service of growth, empathy, and supporting our therapist community. I am human, I am learning, and like all of us, I am a work-in-progress.

Above all, Nexa is my way of providing a resource to support therapists, as they spend so much of their time supporting others. I hope Nexa helps subscribers to stay informed, connected, and maybe even inspired.

With care,
Enid Wilson
